At ICCN, Bernie & I have a reflection day every Thursday, which allow us to slowdown, spend some extra time in prayerful silence, and look back on how God has been working in our life over the past week. Once a month, we have a shared reflection day with Novices who also live in Hyde Park. This includes two Dominicans of Peace, a Sinsinawa Dominican, a Felician Sister, and a Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In our first gathering, we reflected on the Novitiate as an open door - what does our door look like? What are we being invited into? We were encouraged to draw our own mandala and, at the end of the day, share it along with any other reflection. Here is a photo of us at our first gathering. The Novices are in the first two rows and the Formators are in the back row.
A quick aside... we are feeling the change in seasons. As someone who has been living in urban areas of Southern California for the past 10 years, this is a welcomed experience! I've also included a photo of a tree in our neighborhood; a visual representation of this beautiful transformation.
Blessings and peace,
Sara
